When art stays with you
I know I will die before I read even a fraction of all the good, even great, books out there. The same goes for movies, music, fine art etc.
Nevertheless, I enjoy the Sisyphean climb of this mountain of art that seems to grow even larger with all the content that’s continually being created. While it is harder to pick out the gems from the AI slop, now and then I come across something that not only strikes a chord within me but also stays with me.
When I feel that twang, I know this is something special. I have come to see this as a sign that here is something that matches my tastes (and even expands it).
When something strikes a chord with you, I hope you pay attention and take note of it. Connect the dots with all the other works that resonate and see what you learn about yourself!
Just because, here’s a list with some of movies, books (and 1 play) that have stayed with me long after I first encountered them. What does it say about me, I wonder!
