What amazed me: CODA (2021)

CODA (2021)!

(I started typing this halfway through the movie when we took a break during movie night. That should tell you something.)

I know in 2025, I’m 4 years late to the game but never too late. The protagonist of CODA (which is short for Child of Deaf Adults), 17-years late-old Ruby Rossi, is the only hearing member of her family. If you thought that this is a sob story, you’d be totally off.

The deaf are portrayed as loud, emotional, and flawed, instead of the “sanitised” versions we see of PwDs in cinema. Ultimately though, it’s a movie with a lot of heart and well worth your time.
