...sums up the reactions for any work of art, be it high or low-brow. Perhaps size of the group might vary, but really, all taste is subjective and contextual.
This is both a gift and a challenge to creators. Gift, because you know to expect negative reactions, and challenge because it's on you to hone your taste and ability such that you create something that resonates with you. After all, if you don't like what you put out into the world, then who will?
