Seth's Riffs
I've always been a fan of aphorisms and pithy sayings. These distillations of wisdom often provoke new ideas and new perspectives. And I came across a new collection: Seth's Riffs. Here, Seth Godin lists many 1-liners culled from his blog. These quotes span a wide range of topics and you can even sort them by "most popular".
Three of my favourites include:
- Reliability is a superpower. — reliability sounds boring, but without it, it's hard to be seen as credible
- How to give a five-minute presentation: Give a four-minute presentation and take your time. — sounds counterintuitive at first, but less is more
- Do the emotional labor of working on things that others fear. — this is where many opportunities lie
