I donated blood today!
Last month, I wrote about donating blood being an act of grace. And today, I finally went back to donate after almost 2 years!
It felt like I was doing a good thing. Blood donation is so uncontroversial that no mater how you look at it, it can only be a good thing. (Unlike some kinds of advocacy (green groups, LGBTQ+ organisationsthat may be frowned on by different groups of people.) And maybe one day, my blood could help save three lives, to borrow a stat from Singapore's Health Science Authority.
I did whole blood donation to test the waters after not having donated for so long. It went well and so I have already booked my next slot. When I realised that there's a leaderboard, the competitive part of me decided to maximise my lifetime donations and hence my impact. I'll keep you posted when I hit the first big milestone, 25 donations, which would grant me a bronze medal!
