Audiobooks most definitely count
Purists Snobs may say that listening to audiobooks doesn't count.
I am not a purist.
Audiobooks create a different experience than print books, sure. But they aren't a lesser medium.
In fact, a good narrator can make an average book feel like a good read. a great narrator can transform a good read into a magical journey.
These are some of the audiobooks that that took me on magical journeys:
- Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry, narrated by Lee Horsley (Western, 36h)
- The Martian by Andy Weir, narrated by R.C. Bray (Sci-fi, 10h)
- The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, narrated by John Lee (Historical fiction, 40h)
- Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage* by Alfred Lansing, narrated by Simon Prebble (History, 10h)
- Red Rising by Pierce Brown, narrated by Tim Gerard Reynolds (Sci-fi, 16h)
- Pet Sematary by Stephen King, narrated by Michael C. Hall (Horror, 15h)
