A non-drawer learns to draw: Week 3

It's a little past the end of Week 3, but better late than never.

Here are my sketches from 15 Feb to 21 Feb:

IMG_5964 Practising basic shapes while having fun with them

IMG_5965 Copying a scene from manga, which being black and white, feels less intimidating

IMG_5966 I wanted to start trying out comic strips, so here's a LOTR one.

IMG_5967 My first real attempt at a human illustration, copied from Sean Murphy's design. Was very nervous before starting!

IMG_5968 From a print by Lew Kuan.

IMG_5969 My sketch of Monet's Antibes after visiting an exhibition on Impressionism

IMG_5970 My first attempt at using colour and using the full page. Many squiggly lines and symmetry is off.

IMG_5971 This attempt went off the rails with terrible perspective.

IMG_5972 A silly birding strip inspired by real life.

IMG_5973 Just some squiggles for practice.

One thing I'm going to continue is looking for inspiration to imitate. Since one of my main aims in starting is to gain the confidence to create a mini-comic, I'm going to try a few more comic strips for my last week!
