A Blaugust roundup
Yesterday, I published my last daily post for August. Meaning...I made it to the end of Blaugust!
As I scrolled through my post list, it was satisfying to see the dates go sequentially from 31 to 01. 31 days. 31 posts.
While this is not going to move the needle on world peace, or win me a Nobel Prize...it is stil a success to me. I'm proud that I've been able to
Some numbers
- Unique visitors: 288
- Unique reads: 440
- Top 3 most read posts: More Bearblogs to check out, Read these BearBlogs, Do something you suck at
- Top 4 most toasted posts: More Bearblogs to check out (11), tie: Read these BearBlogs, Do something you suck at, Let them love what they love (6)
Some observations
- Making a public commitment, regardless of audience, kept me writing even on days where I didn't feel motivated
- Topics I gravitated towards: thinking aloud, sharing insights and recommendations, art, being a better person
- Not having a fixed word count I need to hit helped me keep writing even on challenging days
- When I don't write earlier in the day, the likelihood that I'm rushing something just before sleeping increases greatly
- The number of toasts on a post seems to have no connection to the either the time spent thinking about/writing it or my perceived value of said post
- Part of the value of writing my posts without the use of AI is that it helps me piece together and consolidate otherwise scattered thoughts
- In future, I'll consider participating more actively by visiting, reading, and commenting on other Blaugust participants' blogs.
Now onto September!
